At MSC we are looking for people who want to pursue a career with us: those who want to apply their knowledge and expand it and those who like the idea of working towards goals and achieving them.

Why should that be important to you?

The answer is simple. MSC truly gives those who pursue a career as a civil service mariner an opportunity to take command of your career.  Now this does not mean that you will be your own boss and decide when you are going to work and when you are not, but it does mean:

  • MSC will work with those individuals who are dedicated to advancing their careers to help them get the necessary training they need.
  • With MSC you can take your career further, faster and because we don’t have force rotations on our shipboard assignments you can accrue more time underway to advance your Merchant Mariner Credentials.
  • CIVMARs get plenty of opportunity for on the job training. Whether on the bridge or in the galley, you will have the opportunity to excel and grow in your craft.
  • MSC prides itself on promotion from within. Once you are hired by MSC, you can apply for merit promotion opportunities to move up to reach your goal.

It’s important to note that these opportunities aren’t just handed to you as a CIVMAR, but they are offered to those who want to really dedicate themselves to reaching their goals. MSC has countless success stories of people who had done just that and we’ve highlighted some of those stories here.

It doesn’t matter if you’re a recent maritime academy graduate, a veteran, or a person completely new to the maritime industry, you will have the opportunity to take command of your career at MSC.
