Jobs at MSC: Ron Gans

The following blog is the fourth in a series of posts introducing members of Military Sealift Command’s dedicated team who are responsible for recruiting and retaining a skilled workforce.  Meet Rob Gans, a member of MSC’s field recruitment team. Recently, we had the chance to sit down with Rob and ask him a few questions about his job and why he finds it rewarding.

Jobs blogHow long have you worked with the Command?  I have been with the Command over three years now.

What is the best part of working with the MSC field recruitment team?  The best part of working with the MSC field recruitment team is helping qualified veterans and other mariners secure a meaningful career with Military Sealift Command. I really love the work I do, my motto is ‘all this and a paycheck too!’

How do you apply your past skills and experiences to helping current CIVMARs and prospective MSC employees?  There are so many different skills and experiences that go into recruiting for MSC. My Navy background helps me understand what qualities and qualifications are required to succeed with MSC. I also utilize my leadership, administrative and recruiting experience to help guide individuals towards the positions they may qualify for.

Be sure to watch for future posts. You can always reach out to the recruitment team by attending a job fair or calling the CIVMAR Support Center at 866-562-7672. You can also email or post a message on our Facebook page.
